About this collection

This collection is a record of meetings held by the Kappa Chapter of Phi Delta Delta, Washburn University School of Law, from its inception on May 21, 1921 to December 13, 1971. Monthly meetings were held either at the law school building or at the home of one of the members. Among other business, meetings involved initiation services (i.e ceremonies), fund raising, and election of officers for the year. A founder's day banquet was held each year during the November meeting, a tradition originating with the banquet that followed the May 1921 installation of the chapter. The collection also includes newspaper clippings about chapter announcements, activities and information about members, reports on special events such as conferences and conventions, and letters to and from individual members.

The founding Kappa Chapter members were: Ruth M. (Kaster) Webb (1921), Isabel L. Obee (1924), Mary Phyllis Obee (1924), Ivah C. (Raines) Glenn (1923), Esther L. (Reed) Smith, Mary H. (Williams) Koger (1922) and Marion (McArthur) Wyman.
